Nurtured Beginnings

Hi there! I’m Aubrey Whitlock, a birth doula and massage therapist offering care through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I created Nurtured Beginnings to be a space where you can feel safe, supported, and truly seen during your special journey into motherhood.

My approach is rooted in research on the benefits of continuous labor support and therapeutic touch—both shown to reduce stress, ease discomfort, and support the natural process of birth. Through therapeutic massage and doula care, I aim to create a supportive environment where you can feel physically and emotionally prepared to meet your baby.

My Services

  • As a birth doula, I support you through pregnancy, labor, and birth with evidence-based information, comfort techniques, and a calm, consistent presence. I'm here to help you feel prepared, confident, and supported as you enter into motherhood.

  • My massage sessions are designed to support the physical changes of pregnancy and recovery after birth. I use techniques that help ease muscle tension, improve circulation, lower stress, and support healing. Each session is tailored to your specific needs—whether you're pregnant, postpartum, or just in need of some extra me time.

My birth philosophy…

Birth is a sacred, God-given design—complex, powerful, and rooted in the physiology of the female body. From the beginning of creation, this ability was entrusted to women. When supported and undisturbed, birth unfolds through a finely tuned hormonal process involving oxytocin, endorphins, and other systems working in harmony to bring new life into the world.

It is a transformative experience—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and not something that needs to be managed by default. While medical care has its place when needed, normal, healthy birth is not a condition to be fixed. It’s a biological process the body was created for, and it functions best when the mother feels safe, supported, and in control.

That’s why it’s essential that birthing women are surrounded by people who trust them—partners, family, and trained birth workers who offer encouragement, knowledge, and respect. Women should have full autonomy to choose where and how they give birth, with their intuition and preferences guiding the process. When we embrace birth as the intelligent, physiological process it is, we create space for it to unfold as it was designed.
